Livery and Training at Grovewood Andalusian Stud​​

Although Grovewood Stud breeds Spanish and Spotted horses we are very happy to accommodate any breed. Broodmares, retired, weanlings, Western horses and troubled equines are all welcome. We spend time building a secure bond of trust with all the Equines in our care. Services provided in a proffessional manner which meet the welfare needs of the individual. We are located in Hadlow Down, East Sussex and the owner lives on site. 

 

We specialise in FOALING LIVERY and livery for rehabilitation of troubled/problem  equines, (trailer training, world proofing, standing to mount, clipper phobia etc) and youngstock handling. Sympathetic and kind natural horsemanship training methods, classical riding principals, working with horses natural inclinations and psychology, no gadgets and no quick fixes. Tuition for Riders and owners who we like to involve in the process. 

 

Indoor barn with extra large boxes and outdoor yard, all boxes have rubber mats, haybars and wall mangers . Lunge/ in-hand sand area. Round Pen. All weather outdoor school, show jumps and cross country schooling field, post and rail fields. All year turnout. Late night feed and check. Livery tailored to the individual horse and owner needs.

 

FOALING LIVERY

We know what a worry this time can be and having your precious mare foal down at Grovewood can take the stress and worry away for you and make the process much more exciting. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience foaling our own mares and clients mares. Our foaling boxes in the stud barn are very large with rubber matting and foal safe fittings, Haybars, wall mangers and drinkers. CCTV connected to the house, just yards away, to keep all night watch when foaling is imminent, and comfortable foaling alarm if needed. Correct, best quality, Holistic diet for Broodmares and foals plus basic training in handling and leading the babies once mum has a secure bond. All training with stress free, kind methods. (Natural Horsemanship) working with horses natural inclinations and psychology. Mum and baby recieve a post foaling vet check with the option of an IgG test to assure your foal has received plenty of colostrum. Our Veterinary Team are the excellent Priors Farm Equine and we have top farrier Andrew Casserly to attend as needed.
